2024/25 Argentina Corn Estimate Unchanged at 48.0 Million Tons
Author: Michael Cordonnier/Soybean & Corn Advisor, Inc.
The 2024/25 Argentina corn estimates was left unchanged this week at 48.0 million tons and I have a neutral bias going forward.
Farmers in Argentina had planted 10.5% of their 2024/25 corn as of late last week which represents an advance of 3.4% for the week. The most advanced planting is in the core production areas and central Entre Rios where the corn is 35-40% planted.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange commented that farmers are monitoring the level of corn leafhoppers in their area and if the insect populations start to increase, they may reduce their corn acreage more than the 20% the Grain Exchange is already anticipating. The Grain Exchange is estimating the 2024/25 corn production in Argentina at 47.0 million tons. Below is the corn planting progress in Argentina for September 25, 2024 from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.
